Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Duties:

Work as part of a team, under the direction of a Project Manager, to produce Design Development and Construction Documents, and provide Construction Phase Services

  • Perform analysis and design of structural elements and components
  • Perform calculations for joint and connection design
  • Review specifications for consistency with design
    • Assist and direct entry level engineering staff with design and analysis
    • Collaborate with other design team members on the overall structural design
    • Work with BIM staff to develop construction documents
  • Assist the contractor during construction with interpretation of the documents and resolution of field issues
  • Review shop drawings for conformance with Contract Documents
  • Answer routine RFI’s and field questions
  • Provide structural observation

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates will have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with an emphasis in Civil or Structural Engineering, have a Professional Engineer’s License (PE) and have a minimum 2 years building design experience.

Preference will be given to those with a Master’s Degree with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.

Candidates will be able to clearly communicate framing and detailing ideas to team members.

Candidates will be able to design structural elements and components manually and with design software.

Candidates will be able to analyze structural systems manually and with analysis software.

Candidates will be able to clearly express and understand ideas and concepts through verbal, written and graphical communication.

Candidates will have the ability to prepare clear and concise calculations.

Relevant experience includes:

  • Three dimensional, linear, finite element analysis for lateral systems
  • Design of concrete shear walls
  • Design of mild reinforced concrete slabs and beams
  • Design of post-tensioned concrete slabs and beams
  • Design of concrete columns, steel columns, trusses, and beams
  • Design of mat foundations
  • Design of deep foundations
  • Overall project design for small to moderate sized structures
  • Design of structures in high seismic design categories

The candidates must be proficient with the following codes and standards:

  • IBC 2012
  • ASCE 7-10
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel

The candidates must be familiar with the following software and design standards:

  • ETABS, SAP, STRUDL, or STAAD
  • RISA
  • AutoCAD
  • Revit
  • ACI 318-11
  • AISC Steel Manual 14th Edition

ANNUAL COMPENSATION RANGE

$62,000-$82,000 – depending on qualifications, plus a generous benefits package.
